Hi! I am Pauliina, and this is Mind & Meanings.

I have a curious mind that thinks in a global, all-at-once manner. It feels messy, overwhelming, and humanly alive all at the same time.  Writing helps me organise the chaos. Dark humour helps me survive it.

I’m a social worker in the mental health and addictions field, and a sexologist. I’m constantly studying, learning, and unlearning. My work, just like my mind, can feel messy, overwhelming, humanly alive, and, also very rewarding. And, again, writing helps me make sense of it. And humour, sometimes as dark as my soul goes, keeps it light enough to carry. At this point, I’ve come to accept that my professions don’t fit neatly into boxes. They overlap, intertwine, and impact one another. So I let them do exactly that, meeting here in my writings. I’m here to break myths, to spark conversations, and to explore the endless meanings our minds wander through — about intimacy, healing, identity, power, vulnerability, and connection. And literally anything else that helps me untangle the chaos of my thoughts.

If you’re curious, reflective, and a little uncomfortable with easy answers, you’re in the right place. Or, to be honest, being curious is already enough. That’s what got me into my professions in the first place anyway. Welcome on board.
